"Looking for Hope"

Mandy Beal

Mandy writes..."I’m going to explore the concept of hope from a few different perspectives. Christianity is a religious tradition that puts a strong emphasis on hope. Hope is the theme of many biblical passages and stories, but the meaning of hope is nuanced across the evolution of biblical passages. Erick Erickson named hope the cornerstone of healthy psychosocial development. And yet, hope has an ambivalent meaning in Buddhism and is often considered the root of suffering. How can these different understandings refine each other and help us to gain greater insight into the meaning of hope in our lives?"
