So What Does it Cost to Run a Church, Anyway?

Well . . .

$1735 a year to service the furnace
$5000 a year to support the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization
$26,000 a year for the choir
$3000 a year for trash removal . . .

And that’s all before we pay to clean and heat the building, turn on the lights, buy candles and coffee, copy paper and hymn books, service the elevator or test the fire alarm. It doesn’t include supporting our fine programming or paying the staff.
