First Church in Boston is the meeting place for children with independent spirits too. Children grow their spirits in a myriad of ways – through play, learning, giving, sharing and thinking. When we talk about “the spirit” we are not talking about the biblical Holy Spirit. Rather we are talking about that spark within each of us that, if properly nurtured, gives us resilience, optimism and a sense of connection with all that is good, a sense of connection with God’s presence in the world. We offer many opportunities to nurture our youngest spirits.
