Children and Youth Programs

Youth Program

The youth program meets on Sunday mornings from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon.  The goal of our youth program is to empower youths to create an inclusive community based on Unitarian Universalist principles and to involve them in the wider life of the church. Youth are invited to participate in many programs and committees in the church, and have one representative on the Standing Committee.

A typical month’s programs include:

• Stories of Faith in Life.  A member of the congregation visits the group and talks about how she or he lives out their values and faith commitment in life.
• Attending the church service and having a “talk-back” session with one of the ministers following the service.
• Topics such as the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, UU History and Polity, The Role of Religion in Everyday Life, and Decision Making.

In addition, youth may participate in district youth conferences several times during the year.  These conferences are opportunities for youth from different UUchurches to get to know one another and to broaden their understanding of Unitarian Universalism.

Through an email list youth and their parents may be informed of upcoming events and opportunities.  If you would like to be included on this list please email Ruth.
