In addition, Calliope will proudly premiere Leaf to Leaf, a choral/orchestral work written by Boston composer Adria Stolk specifically for Sacred Threads and this performance.
Sacred Threads, the organization , is based in Newton, MA, and was founded by Rosemary Mulvihill, RSM, and Marie LaBollita, SC. Their years of pastoral experience sparked a series of serious conversations about how women’s lives matter, and how women were searching for a sustainable spirituality to support and enhance their lives. They wanted to provide opportunities where women could gather in circles of reflection and dialogue, where their questions about God and their longing for God could slake their thirst for the Holy; to provide a place for women to grow spiritually in a safe and respectful environment though counseling and spiritual direction; and to offer a place that would honor the challenges of women’s lives. Aware of the sacred threads that make up women’s lives, Rosemary and Marie named the organization Sacred Threads and are especially proud of having offered well over 100 programs in the nine years since the organization's inception as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
