"Creating Change--Part Two"

Preacher: Rev. Stephen Kendrick
Date: June 8, 2014

This service of music and celebration will be the culmination of this year's preaching theme of 'Creating Change.' I want to bind together all the variations of this topic that I worked with all year. To me, nothing in life is more pressing, or more important, than to deal with change. Great spiritual visionaries such as Jesus and the Buddha returned over and over to the core of life effectiveness--to cope with, and to compassionately guide, life's inevitable changes.

But fear not--the sermon will be short and the gift of various musical pieces will be great. It will be a fast moving and celebratory end of the regular church year (though keep in mind that, unusually, we will stay one more week in the main Sanctuary for David Ruffin's final service as our ministerial intern next Sunday on Father's Day. After David's last sermon, then we head upstairs for the rest of the summer to the air-conditioned Chapel...).

It has been a wonderful year--see you in church.
