Stephen writes..."As part of previous minister Rosemary Lloyd's new effort called "The Conversation Project," I will be preaching on issues of life, mortality and love--kind of covers the waterfront, doesn't it? Yet I am surprised at how little time and attention is ever given, in life, and even here at First Church, on contemplating our life limits. Can I use that little word, so packed with power, "Death?" Yipes. I will get into the topic by way of a beautiful story of a Dante scholar who lost his wife, and nearly his soul, but fought his way back to life by understanding that haunting phrase that begins Dante's Divine Comedy: 'In the middle of my life, I found myself in a Dark Wood...'"
