"Knowing Where You Are (Is Over-Estimated)"
In this age of GPS guidance and self-help manuals telling all of us how 'to find ourselves' it is refreshing and freeing to contemplate the hidden virtues of wandering, being lost, and encountering life with an open-hearted (and map free) attitude. It is always an honor to preach on Martin Luther King, Jr.'s holiday, and I will be looking at his life, and the way his contemporary Thomas Merton also lived his days--both of them open to the wild winds of the spirit to sweep them along into new challenges and struggles. Always knowing where you are is a highly over-rated virtue. See you in church! --Stephen
