Sounding Our Way with Poetry

"The start-off place for my sermon will be a point that Stephen made in one of his sermons recently, that the most powerful way to get people to care about preserving the environment amid the specter of Global Warming, which could lead to our ultimate extinction, is to get them to love life and experience life joyfully, in the here and now, so that they will care about safe-guarding what we are gifted with on this planet.

To that end I am hoping to make a case for poetry as a vehicle and point of access to the community of spiritual appreciation HERE ON EARTH - or as the refrain in one of the hymns goes "Let faith gather us near, Let hope among us appear, Let love cast out all the fear Now and here"
