Membership Committee

The Membership Committee focuses on welcoming new members into the church and fostering community for all members and friends of the church. 

o We send a welcome letter and new members’ manual to each new member.
o We assign a “buddy” to each new member, to ensure that all are individually welcomed.  We invite all members of the church to join us in supporting new members as they start their involvement in our church community.
o We continue to utilize the “blue cup” system to identify guests on Sunday mornings, so that we are better able to welcome them to our church.
o The Membership Committee is responsible for providing name tags for all who request them.
o In October we organized a pot luck supper in the church auditorium for members and friends of the church.
o In late February the committee organized and facilitated nine small group dinners held in members’ homes.  This was very well received by the church community.
o In April, we provided a luncheon for all new members who joined the church during the past year.

Next year we plan to continue and improve our outreach to visitors and new members.
