Art & Spirit - Workshop led by Karen Hering

April 22, 2018 - 12:45pm to 2:45pm

Writing Session 1, Sunday April 22, 12:45/1 pm – 2:45/3 pm (tbd)

Open Page: Living on the Threshold

Every day, we stand on a threshold between what has been and what might be. Pausing to reflect and write as we cross a threshold helps us name what we’re leaving behind and choose how we will live into the unknowns awaiting us. This session, for writers and nonwriters alike, is an invitation to pause and consider the gifts and losses present on the threshold. Whether you are on a personal threshold – a change in roles or relationship, in your work or home life, your identity or abilities or commitments – or feeling the impact of the shared thresholds we are all crossing together in our nation and the shared world and planet, this program offers you support and encouragement, evocative questions and nature’s wisdom, and an opportunity to experience sorrow as well as hope and joy, all present on the threshold.

Karen Hering, author of Writing to Wake the Soul: Opening the Sacred Conversation Within and consulting literary minister rooted at Unity Church-Unitarian, St. Paul, Minnesota, invites you to put pen to paper to explore a current threshold in your life or to reflect on thresholds you’ve crossed in the past. Whether you’re a writer or not, this session will give you tools for pausing on a threshold of your own life to find courage and blessing there on the cusp of change. Visit:
