Masks of Love April 28

11am – 12pm in the worship service & 12:30 – 2pm Learning Community

Join professional mask maker, Fulbright scholar, and author Eric Bornstein from Behind The Mask Theatre/Studio for a unique series of programs on the theme of Masks and Spirituality at First Church Boston. Mr. Bornstein will participate in the 11am-12pm service. That will be followed by a Learning Community talk/slide presentation and Q&A with the theme of Masks of Love: Reawakening the Spirit. A light lunch will be provided.

Mask-making Workshop Saturday May 4, 12:30 – 2pm

Join mask artist Eric Bornstein for an afternoon of non-messy, fun, and innovative mask-making for the whole family. Recommended for ages 8 and up, younger kids will just need a little help, and teens/adults will find more challenging solutions. Designed for your success, there is no glue, no paint, and masks will be ready to wear, even over glasses in about 30 minutes. We will provide pizza at 12 noon for those grumbly tummies!

Mask Performance Workshop Sunday May 5, 12:30 – 2pm

Love masks and want to learn how to perform with them? Join mask artist Eric Bornstein and several boxes of his masks for a fun and informative workshop. Be prepared to move and play. We will learn how to perform with masks safely, and bring out the sounds, shapes, movements, and words with fun solo and group exercises. We will culminate with a group party with all characters interacting with each other.

Mr. Bornstein’s masks will be on exhibit at the church from April 21 – June 2.

All events are free and open to the public
